Biddie Night

In order from left to right:

Amanda--Guitar, Vocals
Deidre--Piano, Melodica, Vocals
Saskia--Bass, Vocals
Lee Ann--Lead Vocals

Stephanie and I went to the Mad Cow Theater in Orlando Florida during the Cabaret Festival to see the Lascivious Biddies! The Biddies call their type of music "cocktail pop". Although they originally sang in clubs around New York City, they became well known in just the past year though podcasting, which is where I first becamed intrigued by their style.

This is from their website:
The Lascivious Biddies, an all female cocktail pop quartet based in New York City, have earned a reputation for having an energetic and tightly woven live show, full of laughter, expert musicianship and a dash of sentimentality. At SXSW 2005 the Biddies made a splash with the media and fans alike. "If the Donnas are rock's answer to girl power, then the Lascivious Biddies are jazz's answer to female singularity." (The Austin American-Statesman). The Washington Post calls them "Manhattan's Hippest Girl Group." According to Time Out New York, the Biddies' second album, Get Lucky, overflows with "angelic vocal harmonies, wordy humor, jazz chops and pop moxie."

After listening to their CD's many times, it was fun to see all my favorites performed live. I enjoyed the DVD of their live performance in New York (available on their website) but nothing comes close to seeing them in person. I could tell they enjoy what they do by their expressive faces and the fun interactions they had on stage. If you ever have a chance to see them live don't miss it.

I hope that they will add Kentucky to their tour schedule coming up in the fall of this year.

Lasagna Follow up

The lasagna was a success. I made a 13x9 pan so we had enough for left overs. Stephanie and I both had it for lunch on Thursday. I like the recipe of my moms because it does leave room for additions to the ingredients.

Stephanie sent this too me today and made me smile

Tuesday

I went to see Kenlyn, Scotty and Corey last night after spending about 2 hours packing stuff (I needed a break) they all were doing good. Corey is now trying to take steps after pulling him self up he wobbles a bit then grabs onto what ever is close. I think he will be walking in less than a month. I took some pictures but the photos all turned out a bit blurry so sorry no new pics of the "Little Man"
